| Choosing a Reliable Carpenter |
|
Many builders
install their own trim or subcontract depending on the
intricacy of the work requested.
Most painters can make just about any trim installation look
professional with a little caulk and wood filler, however a quality job
will stand the test of time and will not shift or crack. The
installation of trim
becomes even more important if you will not be painting the
woodwork. In this case, tight seams and quality work
are a
must.
Do it yourself
Installing trim is made easier if you have access to a radial arm saw
and a pneumatic nailer.
Take your time, measure twice and cut once! (words to live by).
Hire a reliable carpenter
Do your homework. Quality references are a must. Be sure the
carpenter that you hire will complete your job in a timely manner.
Remember that contractors will always come back if there is
money
on the table so never pay for a job in full until it is completed and
you are satisfied. Consult with your builder. He/she will
know of
a carpenter to suit your needs.
