Choosing a Reliable Electrician

electrician Do it yourself

  • Always double check to make sure the power is off at the breaker before attempting any electrical work.
  • Be sure others in the house know you are performing electrical work.
  • Follow the local electrical codes.  Check with your town offices/local inspector for specific codes to be aware of.

Hire a reliable electrician

Hire a local electrician, if you can.  They will know the local codes.  Knowing the local inspector and his/her preferences will also make the process go much smoother.  Get several estimates.  Let them know what the low bid was and give them an opportunity to adjust their bid.  If business is slow, you may just get a better price!
